Jacob van Oppen, the former strongest man on earth, and his wily manager Orsini tour small towns staging wrestling matches and challenging the locals to beat the champ.
When they arrive in the small town of Santa Maria, the determination of a local woman poses major problems to their livelihood and their friendship.
Mal día para pescar is a quirky comedy exploring ideas of friendship, loyalty and respect. This is a unique film and an excellent example of the originality of contemporary Uruguayan cinema, which is sure to be a festival hit.
Worth a watch by Me
I really liked the look of this film - a really enjoyable moment spent in the cinema. It reminded me a bit of a western in terms of the plot (two strangers arrive in a town ready to scam people), the design and feel of the film is really good and I especially liked the character of Jacob Von oppen and his struggle (a bit like a retro \"the Wrestler\" i suppose)
