Viva Spanish & Latin American Film Festival

¡Viva! Spanish & Latin American Film Festival will return for its 16th edition at Cornerhouse, Manchester from 6 - 27 March 2010.

The full programme will be unveiled mid-February, but you can already look forward to a packed programme including Uruguayan comedy Mal Día Para Pescar; Spanish family drama La vergüenza; Catalan coming-of-age tale Little Indi and guest appearances from award-winning writer-director Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón and short filmmaker Luis Arambilet.

This year, at your demand, we have extended the dates of the festival: instead of 9 days of intensive film watching you will have a whole month to discover the best in Hispanic cinema. We hope this will allow you catch all the films you really want to see and to discover some hidden gems along the way.

We are also really excited to extend the ¡Viva! offering to our galleries as we welcome internationally acclaimed Mexican artist Carlos Amorales to Manchester. Amorales’ exhibition presenting his inter-media installations Psicofonias (2008) and Discarded Spider (2008) opens at Cornerhouse on Sat 6 March and continues until Sat 27 March.
